It’s the beginning of February, and if you’re anything like me you’re getting pretty sick of the cold weather. Only 3 (2.5 if we’re lucky) more months to go until the snow will finally stop melting, so I thought it was time I switched up my go-to cold weather drink!
I’m a coffee person- Love it, need it, miss it when I don’t have it. But, I can’t be drinking a cup of coffee at 7:00 pm when I’m cold and looking for something to warm me up before I go to bed. I’ve been seeing a few local coffee shops trying out turmeric lattes as a feature in their shops, so I thought I would give it at try at home.
I found a recipe online, but simplified it! If you have an espresso machine, you can make it with a steamer. Or, you can make it on the stove top. If you make it yourself, let me know what you think!
- 1 1/2 cups of milk (soy, oat, hemp, pea, whatever you like)
- 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- cinnamon to taste
- pinch of salt
Mix the milk and coconut oil in a saucepan, simmer until warmed through (about 5 mins). Add in the honey, turmeric, cinnamon and salt. Stir until mixture is frothy.
If you’re using a steamer, just steam the milk and coconut oil together until frothy then add the honey, turmeric, cinnamon and salt.
